  • What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine is a patient-centered healthcare approach that identifies and addresses the root causes of diseases. Unlike traditional medicine, which often focuses on treating symptoms, functional medicine looks at the individual’s history, lifestyle, and environmental influences to develop personalized treatment plans. • How does Restore Health Center differ from a traditional healthcare clinic?

At Restore Health Center, we prioritize understanding the whole person rather than just treating symptoms. Our approach combines the latest medical research with evidence-based treatments to address both acute and chronic conditions, focusing on long-term wellness rather than quick fixes.

  • What conditions do you treat at Restore Health Center?

We treat a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to hormonal imbalances, gut health issues, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, allergies, and thyroid disorders. Our approach is to understand and treat the underlying causes of these conditions for lasting health improvements.

  • What can I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit will involve a comprehensive evaluation of your health history, lifestyle, and any current health concerns. This may include a detailed discussion, physical examination, and possibly laboratory testing to gather a complete picture of your health.

  • Do you accept insurance?

At Restore Health Center, our care model is built on a direct, personal relationship between you and your healthcare provider. This philosophy extends to our business model as well, where we prioritize direct interaction over third-party involvement. Consequently, we do not accept insurance. This decision allows us to avoid the arbitrary and intrusive decisions often imposed by insurance companies, ensuring that the focus remains solely on your health and wellness. Our direct fee-for-service arrangement not only keeps the quality and cost of care decisions between you and your provider but also enables us to offer more affordable prices on laboratory tests, imaging, and medications by eliminating the overhead associated with insurance billing.

While most functional lab tests are not typically covered by insurance, we strive to make your care accessible and affordable. We are a Care Credit provider, which allows for office visits, lab testing, and nutritional supplement costs to be paid over 12 months at 0% interest. Additionally, HSA and FSA accounts may be utilized for our services, though we recommend checking with your plan for details.

Our approach ensures that every aspect of your care is tailored to your needs, free from external constraints.

  • How are treatment plans developed?

Treatment plans are personalized based on each patient’s unique health profile, including test results, health history, and personal health goals. Plans may incorporate lifestyle changes, nutritional guidance, supplementation, and other therapies as needed.

  • What kind of testing do you do?

We utilize a range of advanced diagnostic tests, including blood tests, stool analyses, hormone panels, and more, depending on the individual’s symptoms and health concerns. These tests help us uncover the root causes of health issues in order to develop more effective treatment plans. For more information, visit this page.

  • How long until I see improvements?

The time frame for seeing improvements varies by individual and condition. Some patients notice changes within a few weeks, while others may see gradual improvements over months. Consistency and commitment to your personalized plan are key to achieving the best outcomes.

  • Do you offer telehealth services?

Yes, Restore Health Center offers telehealth services for consultations and follow-up appointments, providing flexibility and convenience for our patients.

  • Can functional medicine help with weight loss?

Yes, functional medicine can support weight loss by addressing the underlying factors contributing to weight gain, such as hormonal imbalances, metabolic issues, and inflammation. Personalized treatment plans focus on sustainable lifestyle changes and nutritional adjustments.

  • Is functional medicine safe for children?

Absolutely. Functional medicine can be beneficial for children, offering personalized approaches to address a variety of health issues, including allergies, asthma, digestive problems, and more, with an emphasis on safety and efficacy.

  • How often will I need to visit the clinic?

The frequency of visits varies depending on your individual health needs and the specifics of your treatment plan. Initially, you may visit more frequently, with visits becoming less frequent as your health improves.

  • Can I see a functional medicine practitioner for acute illnesses?

While our focus is on chronic conditions and overall wellness, we can also address acute illnesses by supporting the body’s natural healing processes and providing guidance on preventive care. Many of our patients experience fewer acute illnesses as a result of strengthened immunity through the functional medicine approach.

  • What dietary approach does Restore Health Center recommend?

We do not adhere to a one-size-fits-all dietary approach. Instead, we recommend nutrition plans based on individual health needs, preferences, and test results, often focusing on whole foods, balanced nutrients, and addressing specific dietary sensitivities.
